Queensland cafe and catering company Frigg, which has five outlets across both the gold coast and in Brisbane, has gone into voluntary liquidation.
The twin sisters behind the company, Maria Noutsatos and Toula Scott, say they made the announcement with a “heavy heart”, but after years of challenges ranging from the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters to increasing costs, it was time to find a new owner.
Frigg has cafes at Wynnum West, Labrador, Nerang, Southport and Ascot, with SV Partners appointed as liquidators.

“Unfortunately, like most hospitality businesses that traded and struggled their way through COVID, it has been more than difficult and was truly exhausting to try to survive,” the sisters said in a joint statement.
Despite attempts to “future-proof” their business after struggling through the pandemic, including reducing costs and seeking new investors, the sisters said they could not have predicted that some of the hardest days were still to come — in what the sisters coined “the long COVID of small business”.
“No one could predict the perfect storm of events which is heavily impacting hospitality and small business right now — and has done so…
